Equisk EngagedRider Resistance Bands help riders improve their posture, balance, and symmetry in the saddle. The bands are comfortable, fully adjustable, and feature guide stripes for correct and symmetrical placement. They are perfect for riders of all levels: from those who want to sit better and more effectively on their horse, to advanced riders who want to specifically correct crookedness during lateral movements, flying changes, or piaffe and passage. The bands are also a valuable tool for instructors to make riders more aware of their posture and seat.
The bands activate cross-body muscle chains (such as abs, lower back, and shoulders) and support stability from front to back and from left to right. You immediately feel when you are sitting crooked, dropping a shoulder, or slumping in your torso, allowing you to correct it right away. The result is a straighter, more stable seat and a horse that stays straight and balanced more easily.
Because the elastic resistance automatically activates your deep core and stabilizing muscles without you having to consciously think about it, you can move more fluidly with your horse and ride with greater connection. At the same time, the same elastic resistance encourages you to stretch through your heels, keep your legs long, and use your joints flexibly. Riders who tend to slump or bring their shoulders forward receive a subtle but effective reminder to improve their posture.
Usage & safety:
Start with 10–15 minutes (preferably after your warm-up) and gradually build up. As you get stronger, you can wear the bands longer and work step by step towards a more stable, stronger seat. Many riders also choose to remove the bands for the last 5–10 minutes of the training, so that the body retains the new muscle activation itself. For best results, use the bands at least once a week, or every ride for specific areas of attention.
Start with simple exercises such as circles at walk, trot, and canter. Then work towards tempo changes and leg yield. Advanced riders can use the bands during lateral movements, flying changes, and collected exercises.
Use the bands exclusively on a well-trained horse in an enclosed arena and avoid trail rides or working at high speed. Secure the loop around the heel of your riding boot (not under the sole), so you can quickly release it in an emergency. Stop immediately if your horse spooks or if fatigue affects your posture. Use the bands only as long as they improve your posture.
The bands are made of strong, elastic material that is comfortable and durable. They are washable at 30°C and easy to maintain. With proper care, they will last for years. Watch the instruction video for correct use of the Resistance Bands.
